InVue Insight
A web app that provides visibility to in-store activity including customer interaction with devices, security status and planogram compliance.
About
The product
MVP of InVue’s remote access dashboard/audit tool for retailers to ensure planogram compliance, analyze security, charge status, recent alarms, and associates/key activity.
My role
I was part of the pitch team and responsible for the experience strategy and design of the web app. I led the UX research and design work, producing all expected deliverables in mid-fidelity and presenting these to the client between October and December 2015.
I worked closely with the VP of Product Management and the Director of Innovation at InVue. On the Room5 side (the IoT consulting firm I was a part of), I worked alongside the Director of Business Development (managing the project) and the Senior Full-Stack Developer (building the prototype).
Working as part of a 5 people team, my role was to lead the research , UX and interaction design. Once designs and coded prototype were validated and approved, I handed designs over to InVue’s in-house visual designer.
I used a 3-step process:
Identifying the problem to solve (discovery)
Creating solution ideas (from broad to narrow)
Validate solutions (testing with users)
Product goal
Enable InVue retail customers to remotely monitor and enhance in-store data collection of demo device browsing in electronics stores for informed decision making
Awareness of Invue’s IR key usage and security access
This is an initiative to increase marketshare since the competition does not provide their customers with an anytime, anywhere software solution.
Discovery & Definition
The initial scope of the project was to add a new feature into an existing app to assist the set up of a new product offering: A turnkey Wi-Fi service to Viasat’s residential internet subscribers to reduce churn, reduce CARE costs, enable additional product lines, and make some money by delivering on the promise of WiFi coverage throughout their home.
